The Kurukshetra district has been performing tremendously in the field of education. Special attention is given towards proper education of people of the district. For this purpose sufficient infrastructure has been set up. At District Level there is one District Education Office which look after the Middle to Senior Secondary Education. Simillarly District Primary Education Office is looking after the primary education in the district.
BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE
To ensure the proper and smooth educational facilities in the district, the department of education has created a large structure of instrastructure. There are total 27 Senior Secondry Schools, 55 Government High School and 73 Middle Schools. In addition, there are 18 recognised Non Government Senior Secondary School, 25 High Schools and 8 Middle schools. So far as staff is concerned, there are 27 Principals, 55 Headmasters in High Schools. The number of teacher in all subject is sufficient as there are 140 Match Master, 192 in Science, 412 in Social Studies, 136 in Hindi etc. Total 46634 students are enrolled in various government schools. So far as primary education is concerned there are 423 primary schools in the district. For the promotion of talent in students day to day extra activities like Republic Day Celebration , Independence Day, Painting Workshop, Exhibition, Puppet Shows, Performing Arts & Programs, Seminars, Debates, Discussions, Program of Patriotic Song and Freedom Fight Marches, education N.S.S., N.C.C. and Scouts/Guides activities are performed regularly in Govt. and Non-Govt. Recognized schools. Students of district Kurukshetra participated at National Level Science Exhibition during the last years All schools have been provided with well equipped laboratories, libraries, lecturer rooms, well furniture, water tank facilities, urinals for boys, girls and staff members separately. To keep cool and clean environment of schools plantation has been done in the school campus.
HIGHER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION
There is good arrangement for higher studies, as the University of World Fame i.e. Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra is also here. Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra, Shri Krishna Ayurvedic College are also situated in Kurukshetra which provides Engineering and Doctors' Degrees. There are also some private colleges and institutes, which provide higher education. One Private Engineering College i.e
Shri Krishna Institute of engineering and technology is also situated in Kurukshetra. District Institute of Educational Training Center is also established in village Palwal, five Kilometers from Kurukshetra to impart training to pupil teacher.
